- Account information: Email address, username, and password when you register
- Profile data: Username, avatar preference, and selected themes
- Habit data: Habits you create, completion records, and notes

- Usage data: App interactions, features used, session duration
- Gamification data: XP, gems, level, streaks, badges, and leaderboard rank
- Pomodoro data: Timer sessions completed, daily and lifetime counts
- Device information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers (collected by third-party SDKs)
2.3 Information from Third-Party Sign-In
- Google Sign-In: Name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account
- Apple Sign-In: Name and email address (or anonymized relay email) from your Apple ID

4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Provide, operate, and maintain the application
- Sync your habits, progress, and gamification data across devices
- Maintain the weekly leaderboard with your username and XP
- Send push notifications for habit reminders (only if you enable them)
- Show relevant advertisements to free-tier users via AdMob
- Process and verify premium purchases
- Analyze usage to improve the application
- Comply with legal obligations
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely in Google Firebase Firestore, which is hosted on Google's infrastructure with industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
6. Leaderboard & Public Data
If you participate in the weekly leaderboard, your username and weekly XP score are visible to other users of the application. Your email address is never displayed publicly. You can change your username at any time in the settings.
7. Advertising (Free Users)
Free-tier users may see advertisements powered by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use data to serve personalized ads, including device identifiers and usage data. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings:
- iOS: Settings → Privacy → Apple Advertising → Limit Ad Tracking
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization
Premium subscribers do not see any advertisements.
8. Children's Privacy
HabQuest is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.
9. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by:
- Using the "Delete Account" option in the app's Settings screen
- Emailing us at habquest.app@gmail.com
Upon account deletion, your personal data (habits, progress, profile) will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. Some anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics purposes.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal data
- Delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restrict or object to processing of your personal data
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured format
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent
